Senior Manager Network Engineering Lead the Network Implementation Engineering group at Oracle Cloud, driving enterprise-grade network services across OCI and OHAI platforms.

Organizational Overview Oracle Cloud continues to drive innovation across the infrastructure and cloud services space, empowering enterprise customers worldwide through automation, scalability, and security. The Infrastructure Engineering Services (IES) Data Center Network Engineering team plays a foundational role in this mission, delivering network services that power Oracle’s most critical workloads. The team is divided into Network Strategy and Network Implementation Engineering; this role leads the latter, reporting to the manager of Data Center Network Engineering.

Responsibilities

Lead a global team of network engineers (US and worldwide) in delivery, support, and optimization of data center infrastructure.

Build a culture of technical excellence, operational discipline, and accountability.

Execute major upgrades, platform refreshes, and migration efforts, supporting site uptime and reducing incident noise.

Oversee structured lifecycle management programs, including proactive patching and multi‑layer software upgrades.

Partner with strategy, architecture, software, compliance, and program management teams to execute a reliable infrastructure roadmap.

Define and execute engineering team goals using Agile workflows and Confluence documentation.

Drive high‑visibility implementations, migrations, and refresh projects across global data centers.

Ensure compliance with patching, security, and network health metrics.

Foster a strong incident/problem management culture using RCA and proactive problem avoidance.

Oversee automation efforts for provisioning (Python, Ansible, Git).

Champion engineering best practices and enforce change control processes.

Serve as escalation point for critical incidents; support 24/7 network availability goals, including manager on‑call rotations.

Contribute to vendor management and tool evaluation decisions (Cisco, Arista, HPE, Citrix, F5).

Drive measurement and reporting of KPIs, SLAs, and OLAs.

Deliver and support data center network infrastructure across Oracle’s global footprint.

Maintain secure, compliant, and cost‑effective solutions aligned to lifecycle management practices.

Direct lifecycle management of network infrastructure hardware and software (L2–L7), including structured upgrade programs.

Establish long‑term lifecycle roadmaps with proactive planning for patching and vendor‑driven enhancements.

Build collaborative partnerships with peer teams and stakeholders.

Cultivate team culture grounded in accountability, mentorship, and engineering growth.

Required Qualifications

U.S. Citizenship and ability to pass a federal background check (SF‑86).

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.

7+ years of enterprise‑scale network engineering experience.

3+ years of leading high‑performing technical teams.

Track record of leading network engineering projects in data‑center environments.

Deep understanding of network protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, IPSEC), routing, and Layer 2/3 architecture.

Hands‑on experience with Cisco ASR, ACI, NX‑OS, ASA, Firepower, Arista EOS, and PAN‑OS platforms.

Operational experience with monitoring tools and incident management platforms.

Hands‑on experience with automation frameworks (Python, Ansible, Git).

Experience with compliance programs and security patching workflows.

Proven experience in lifecycle management and software upgrade execution across L2–L7 platforms.

Ability to develop validation frameworks for pre‑ and post‑change testing to ensure service availability.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior leadership of a global team in a 24/7 network engineering environment.

Knowledge of OCI, Azure, or AWS virtual networking components.

Experience leading migrations or tech refreshes in highly regulated environments.

Familiarity with Agile/Scrum practices.

Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines related to infrastructure.

Proven ability to drive culture and behavioral change within engineering organizations.

Experience integrating network analytics tools (Grafana, Elastic, SNMP traps, syslogs).

Knowledge of vendor lifecycle programs and structured upgrade planning methodologies.

Experience with F5 BIG‑IP, Citrix ADC, or equivalent load‑balancing platforms in global enterprise environments.

US: Hiring Range in USD from $105,000 to $223,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
