Anesthesia Technician - 1st Shift

Overview
Performs a variety of functions to prepare and maintain equipment and supplies as needed by the Anesthesiologist.
Responsibilities
Before Surgery
Set up/troubleshoot anesthesia machines, monitors, suction devices and airway management tools.
Stock supplies.
Help draw up/label and organize medications.
Ensure room readiness, making sure the operating room is set up for specific needs.
After surgery
Clean, disinfect, and restock anesthesia equipment between cases.
Run safety checks so equipment is ready for the next procedure.
Track and reorder anesthesia supplies.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of an accredited program in Anesthesia Technology (A.A.S. degree) preferred and certification as an Anesthesia Technician (Cer.A.T) through the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians (ASATT) preferred.
Previous experience working as an EMT, Emergency Room Technician would be a great background for this position that offers on-the-job training.
CPR certification obtained within 3 months of hire - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required.
Requires ability to understand and identify medical equipment problems and apply technical knowledge in the set-up and calibration of medical equipment.
Requires analytical skills to identify problems, troubleshoot and find efficient solutions.
Requires interpersonal skills to interact with a variety of professional and technical personnel.
Must be able to walk, stand for long periods, over 80% of the assigned work period and lift and position equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
Hours
9am-5pm Monday through Friday. This position also includes a weekend and holiday rotation.
