Overview

You’ll be part of Synchrony that builds and maintains customer relationships centered on community credit needs and community development activity to meet the Bank’s CRA (Community Reinvestment Act) statutory requirements. This is a production role focused on sourcing community development loans and investments to advance Synchrony’s CRA obligations. You will structure deals and lead the underwriting process with key Synchrony stakeholders, present deals for approval at committee, and coordinate with the CRA portfolio management team to ensure all related obligations are met. We offer flexibility in where you work. You may work from home, near a hub, or in one of our offices. Occasional in-person engagements at a local office may be required for meetings, training, or culture events. Essential Responsibilities

Act as an Owner : Bring deals to Synchrony that are responsible, meaningful, and meet CRA goals which satisfy statutory bank requirements. You are the primary contact for the relationship and facilitate concise communications between Synchrony customers and internal stakeholders. Underwriting Leadership : Lead the underwriting process with key stakeholders and create deal presentation materials (IRD). Relate And Inspire : Cultivate strong relationships of trust with team members, stakeholders, and outside community leaders, creating an environment where people feel confident and valued. Conduct periodic relationship reviews and due diligence with customers/clients and stakeholders on-site or virtually, in coordination with the portfolio management team. Maintain current and well-defined relationship summaries (storyboard, CRA allocations, highlights, etc.) in preparation for CRA exams. Champion Synchrony : Represent Synchrony for CRA purposes in the community and support the CRA Officer and CRA team members. Manage client relationships that may include moderate to complex deals or high exposure. Guide deal structuring to achieve outcomes and assist more junior team members. Present deals for committee approval. Coordinate deal closing with Legal and the customer. Represent Synchrony on community-based boards and committees. Assist with other production team activities and special projects as assigned. Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree with 6+ years of relevant professional experience, or 9+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree. 3+ years of experience in Community Reinvestment underwriting with responsibilities related to business development, deal structuring, and negotiation, with a focus on low-income housing tax credit and related funds; residential mortgage underwriting experience is not a qualification for this role. Demonstrated knowledge of advanced business concepts, such as IRR and NPV analysis, financial statement analysis, etc. Strong communication skills (verbal, written, presentation). Some travel may be required. Desired Qualifications

Working knowledge of bank laws and regulations, including the Community Reinvestment Act and related rules. Excellent organization, prioritization, time management, and project management skills. Business acumen, sound judgment, and problem-solving abilities; be prepared to discuss a complex problem you solved. Ability to collaborate with all levels across the business, including senior leaders and customers/syndicators. Compensation

Grade/Level: 12 Salary range: 110,000.00 - 185,000.00 USD annually, eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance. Actual compensation offered will be based on experience, skills, and knowledge. Salaries may be adjusted for market in CA, NY Metro, and Seattle. Eligibility & Equal Opportunity
