About the Division / General description The Integrated Business Applications team believes that innovation, modernization, and transformation is all that we do. We are looking for a talented and skilled Application Support Programmer to join our Agile team supporting custom Mainframe processes. You will work collaboratively to support existing processes and modernize them in an Agile environment. You will also be resolving problems, troubleshooting issues, debugging, and correcting defects. You are a good fit if you are self-motivated, maintain and code to development standards, have excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills and sound judgement, and work well in a team environment.
Responsibilities
Coordinates and/or performs programming for software and system modifications per the technical and functional requirements.
Performs programming/coding changes in accordance with standards, guidelines and design documents.
Gathers information from customers, management, and other sources to code the appropriate changes.
Analyzes proposed and existing computer applications to increase efficiency or adapt to new procedures.
Coordinates testing, debugging and preparation of test data; collaborates with technical and non-technical staff during changes and implementation.
Develops documentation of computer programs, including diagrams, logic flowcharts, and user documentation.
Participates in Agile Scrum team status, planning, and review sessions.
Performs other duties as assigned, including on-call responses in a rotation.
Work Hours 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 40-hour week, Monday through Friday. May occasionally work evenings, weekends and/or holidays. Hours may change based on business need. Application support activities periodically require on-call responsibilities or work during non-standard hours.
Teleworking Teleworking may be considered if certain conditions are met. The candidate must have permanent residency within the state of Texas and must be able to meet in-office requirements, which can vary by section (e.g., report to office 1 day/month, 3 days/week, etc.). Travel reimbursements are not provided for teleworking.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree.
Five (5) years of work experience using IBM COBOL 2 Language.
Five (5) years of work experience using Natural (Software AG) Language.
Five (5) years of work experience using IBM z/OS DB2 - SQL databases.
Five (5) years of work experience using IBM z/OS JCL.
Five (5) years of work experience in coding and testing of programs in a mainframe environment and working with users on requirements for application changes.
Five (5) years of work experience in problem analysis, resolution and testing.
Three (3) years of work experience using a structured Software Development Life Cycle methodology for software development and maintenance.
Preferred Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Management Information Systems.
Three (3) years of experience using IBM TSO / ISPF.
Three (3) years of experience using CLIST / REXX.
Three (3) years of experience using SAS.
Three (3) years of experience using CICS.
Three (3) years of experience working with VSAM files.
Three (3) years of experience using IDE.
Three (3) years of experience with reporting mechanisms such as IBM’s QMF, Squirrel, Query Man, DBeaver.
Three (3) years of experience using ISPW code pipeline or similar SCM tools.
Substitutions One (1) additional year of the full-time minimum experience as stated above may substitute for each year (30 semester hours) of the required education with a maximum of 120 semester hours (four years).
In this role you will

Gather additional information from customers, management, and other sources when necessary to code the appropriate changes.
Coordinate and/or perform research and analysis of proposed and existing computer applications and projects to increase efficiency or adapt to new procedures.
Coordinate testing, debugging and preparing test data and interact with staff during changes and system implementation.
Coordinate the development of documentation of computer programs, including diagrams, logic flowcharts, and user documentation.
Participate in Agile Scrum team status, planning, and review sessions.
Perform other related duties as assigned, including on-call situations 24 hours a day during a rotation.
