Valley Milk, LLC . Valley Milk is searching for a Maintenance Manager to join their dynamic team. In this role, this team member will be responsible for the preventive maintenance program and compliance of processes and equipment to regulatory requirements. The role focuses on identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities and lean manufacturing. Develop and mentor professional growth and advancement of maintenance staff. Represent Valley Milk, LLC as the Company contact for EPA, City Officials, and County Officials as it relates to energy, air, and water quality compliance.

Responsibilities

Accountable for the preventive maintenance program, and maintenance of production equipment and facility

Develop, train, maintain, and administer an organization qualified to maintain all equipment and facilities in a safe and efficient working condition

Accountable for compliance of the Valley Milk, LLC Wastewater Treatment facility to all city, county, state, and federal regulations

Manage systems and procedures to ensure all operating equipment is in optimal working condition

Ensure production equipment is capable of producing within the specifications and tolerances established by the equipment manufacturer

Consult with Manufacturing Equipment Designers, Process Engineering and Control Design Engineers, and the Production Department regarding desirable modifications of existing equipment and facilities to provide continuous improvement

Analyze cost studies for capital expenditure related to the facilities and process equipment to achieve reduced operating costs

Coordinate with production management and third-party project engineers to ensure the efficient operation of all utilities necessary for the distribution and usage of electric power, natural gas, water, and waste treatment

Responsible for the maintenance program and efficient operation of all plant transportation related equipment (e.g., forklifts, man-lifts)

Responsible for purchasing function for engineering, maintenance, and controls

Develop objectives and standards of performance for projects within the Maintenance Department required to meet departmental and company goals and objectives

Accountable for procurement and inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies; maintain expenditure within budget parameters

Manages process for maintaining equipment and facility records and procedures, such as equipment manuals, schematic drawings, and facility drawings

Ensure that all equipment and facility installations and/or modifications meet or exceed all regulatory agency standards (e.g., USDA, FDA, OSHA, ADA, EPA) and comply with Company policies and procedures, including SQF certification

Ensure all departmental personnel receive proper training to maintain HAZMAT 24-hour certification

Adhere to Valley Milk LLC’s Quality, Safety, and GMP policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity

Lead the implementation of DIMO for parts inventory ordering and management

Responsible for leading the management of all capital projects

Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

Will be required to work outside of normal business hours to support maintenance activities or emergency repairs

Physical demands include standing, walking, lifting, and working with machinery

Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems

Experience with automation and control systems (PLC, SCADA)

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Familiarity with industry safety standards and compliance regulations

Demonstrated effective communication skills

Balance of technical, human relations, and conceptual skills required to achieve results in a collaborative team environment

Ability to evaluate and weigh alternatives, establish relative priorities, and formulate decisions affecting all phases of plant operation

B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience) with background in engineering and maintenance of equipment in a food processing facility

Minimum 5 years of experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management position. Experience in dairy manufacturing or food production preferred

Demonstrated ability in planning and organizing, controlling, coordinating, and directing a Maintenance Department

HAZMAT certification at the 24-hour level
