Grant Research & Strategy: Identify funding opportunities that align with Workshops for Warriors’ mission and programs. Use Salesforce to track submission deadlines, reporting requirements, and renewal cycles. Collaborate with leadership and program staff to identify funding needs and align them with grant opportunities. Proposal Development: Write clear, concise, and persuasive grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting documents. Tailor each proposal to fit funders’ priorities and requirements. Ensure all proposals are reviewed by the Director of Development prior to submission, and once approved and submitted, loaded into Salesforce. Assemble and submit complete grant packages, including budgets and supporting documentation, to the Director of Development. After approval, ensure all documentation is submitted accurately and loaded into Salesforce with any notes / follow up tasks logged. Reporting & Stewardship: Prepare and submit timely progress reports, financial reports, and other documentation as required by funders. Track awarded grants in Salesforce and ensure compliance with all funding guidelines. Partner with Finance and Program teams to collect relevant data for reporting purposes. Documentation & Administration: Maintain comprehensive records of proposals submitted, funding outcomes, and correspondence in Salesforce. Update donor database and CRM systems with relevant grant activity. Keep detailed notes on current status up to date in Salesforce. Assist in creating content for newsletters, reports, and fundraising materials when needed. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Work Experience

Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum 5 years of successful grant writing experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector. Experience managing a portfolio of $1.5M+. Proven ability to secure grants from foundation, corporate, and government sources. Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Strong research skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Salesforce is a plus. Passion for the mission of Workshops for Warriors and a commitment to ethical fundraising practices. Strong working ability of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.). Position Details: This is a full-time salaried (exempt) position (40+ hours/week). Located fully on-site with no remote or hybrid work capability. Pay: Base pay for this position with no incentive compensation. Salary range for this California-based position is $68,640.00-$77,000.00 annually. The actual offer will consider skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Benefits and Perks: Comprehensive benefits available the first of the month following date of hire, including Medical (50% employer contribution), dental and vision coverage (100% employer contribution), a 401k with employer match, 8 paid holidays, Flexible work hours (position dependent), and paid time off. Supervisory: No supervisory responsibilities. Physical Requirements: Regularly required to talk or hear; may stand, sit, walk, use hands, reach. May occasionally lift 10-30 lbs. Includes repetitive computer use. Work Environment: Office/administration building in an urban industrial neighborhood; other areas include classrooms, welding and machining areas.
