Commonwealth of Kentucky . This is a federally funded time limited (FFTL) position. This means it is a position paid entirely as the result of a federal grant. The duration of employment shall not exceed the life of the federal grant that funds the position. An FFTL employee is designated as an unclassified (non-merit) employee and is eligible to receive benefits at the same level as a classified (merit) employee in a permanent position. The Office of Unemployment Insurance (OUI) is an agency of the Education and Labor Cabinet. OUI assists Kentuckians who are unemployed or underemployed and actively seeking employment. OUI oversees unemployment insurance benefit payments, provides claim assistance, enforces unemployment insurance tax requirements for employers, audits employer records to ensure compliance, adjudicates disputed claims, conducts hearings for appeals, and conducts quality control reviews to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. This position will have access to confidential and sensitive information. The successful candidate will be required to safeguard and secure all confidential and sensitive information, complete trainings, sign acknowledgments, follow policies, and adhere to statutes and requirements pertaining to safeguarding and security during employment and after employment ends. Job Duties Provides overall administrative support to OUI. Drafts and prepares various reports, memos, and responses to requests from claimants, employers, and attorneys made to the Executive Director's office. Compiles complex status reports on UI data. Assists in compiling information for state and federal audits. Assists and guides temporary employees on questions related to correspondence, claimants, and information requests. Assists claimants and employers by answering inquiries on status information about unemployment claims. Accesses KEWES and KyNet for claimant and employer information and enters additional information into the database. Provides information to claimants, employers, and the public regarding UI and other workforce programs. Provides technical assistance and support within the office by ensuring accurate billing for IT hardware, telephones, and computer system access for all UI clients. Coordinates with IT for auditing purposes to ensure equipment and access are ordered, removed and disabled appropriately. Maintains security documents to satisfy audit requirements. Coordinates and oversees the process of hiring temporary workers for Unemployment Insurance and assists agency management with HR paperwork for personnel actions. Ensures the global email listing is accurate and submits changes to Human Resources and IT as necessary. Works with management, IT, and purchasing agents to submit requests in Salesforce for approvals to purchase goods and services. Works with accounting staff to bill outside users for access to UI data. Minimum Requirements EDUCATION:
Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree. EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:
Three years of professional, administrative, or business experience. Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:
Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:
