Dunlop Protective Footwear in Havre de Grace (MA) is the global market leader in safety footwear within the boots segment. We design, develop and manufacture high quality boots for professional use across sectors such as agriculture, food processing, construction, infrastructure, mining and oil & gas. We have three production locations in Leiria (Portugal), Havre de Grace (USA) and Raalte (The Netherlands).
Overview The production supervisor is responsible for supervising shop employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures, and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.
Responsibilities
Ensure effective employee relations, provide coaching and development, and address employee issues through problem resolution.
Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results; drive continuous improvement.
Manage departmental performance measures, including visual controls; provide regular progress reports to management.
Provide leadership through a 30-day planning cycle.
Manage quality, delivery, and responsiveness (QDRs).
Perform accident investigations and maintain proper inventory levels.
Manage department priorities, track absenteeism and timekeeping, and report daily results against KPI measures.
Complete all assigned paperwork accurately and champion continuous improvement projects.
Ensure strong and consistent communication across shifts and with other Supervisors and departments.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
5–10 years of experience in a production environment.

Work Environment and Physical Demands Work includes exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level can be loud. The duties require regular talking or hearing; standing, walking, and using hands; and periodic climbing, lifting up to 25 pounds, and other physical demands. Position Type / Hours Full-time. Typical hours Monday through Friday with some weekends; shifts may include 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift. Scheduling flexibility may be needed.
Travel No travel is expected for this position.
Salary and Benefits
Competitive wages; starting range for this role is $60,000 – 80,000 plus a 7% bonus opportunity.
