Hueson Wire & Cable is a fast-growing ISO 9001 manufacturer of specialty industrial wire and cable, serving customers who rely on us for responsiveness, precision, and custom-engineered solutions. We are seeking an Accounting Manager who will be the on-site owner of the company’s day-to-day finance, accounting, and HR administrative functions. This person ensures the integrity, timeliness, and accuracy of all financial reporting, payroll, and compliance processes. The Accounting Manager will serve as the company’s financial hub, connecting data, people, and processes across accounting, operations, and leadership. The Accounting Manager will work closely with the CFO, who oversees financial strategy and reporting, and the CEO, who depends on this role for reliable visibility into the company’s financial position. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who thrives on accuracy, urgency, and accountability and who wants to help a manufacturing business build stronger systems and smarter decisions. Key Responsibilities
Accounting and Finance Operations Manage all daily accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and general ledger maintenance. Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close entries. Generate accurate and timely financial statements including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow reports. Manage cash flow and rolling forecasts, monitoring daily activity, collections, and disbursements. Maintain the chart of accounts, ensure GAAP compliance, and strengthen internal controls. Oversee billing, collections, and vendor payments with disciplined follow-through. Support cost accounting, job costing, and margin analysis using the JobBOSS ERP system. Assist the CFO with budgeting, variance analysis, and forecast updates. Serve as the primary liaison to external accountants, auditors, and lenders. HR and Payroll Administration Process weekly payroll accurately and on schedule. Maintain employee records and support benefit enrollment, PTO tracking, and 401(k) administration. Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, payroll tax filings, and reporting requirements. Coordinate new-hire onboarding paperwork and employment changes in collaboration with HR. Maintain confidentiality and data integrity for all personnel and payroll information. Operational Partnership Partner with the Operations team to understand production flow, materials movement, and inventory valuation to ensure accurate costing and reporting. Support initiatives to improve job costing accuracy and real-time visibility into production economics. Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to align financial and production data for better decision-making. Identify process improvements and system enhancements to strengthen data integrity and reporting speed. Compliance and Governance Maintain internal accounting policies and procedures and ensure proper documentation of recurring processes. Prepare documentation for annual audits, lender compliance, and board reporting. Support annual insurance renewals, vendor certifications, and other compliance-related filings. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or progress toward CPA preferred). 4 to 7 years of accounting experience; manufacturing or product-based industry experience strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting best practices. Hands-on experience with general ledger management, month-end close, and payroll processing. Advanced Excel proficiency; experience with QuickBooks or ERP systems (JobBOSS experience a plus). Strong analytical ability and attention to detail with the ability to identify and correct issues independently. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work effectively with leadership, operations, and external partners.
