Staff Accountant, Auto Dealership (75K-85K)

LHH is seeking a
Staff Accountant
for a client in the
automotive dealership industry located in Fort Worth.
The ideal candidate will have 3–4 years of professional accounting experience within a dealership environment and exceptional attention to detail. If you would like to join a dynamic company with excellent work/life balance and ample opportunities for professional growth.
This position pays 75K-85K and does NOT require any weekend hours.
Job Responsibilities
Accurately record payments for vehicle sales and lease transactions in the accounting system.
Validate transaction details and documentation before posting entries.
Post journal entries for sales and lease deals, along with associated AR/AP transactions.
Reconcile customer down payments, deposits, and third-party funding from lenders.
Ensure trade-in vehicle payoffs are processed and accurately recorded.
Track trade-in inventory movements to maintain precise inventory counts.
Collaborate with the title team to coordinate title and registration processes.
Review commission calculations and assist in monthly reconciliation ("washout") processes.
Match lender funding amounts and fees with deal documentation to verify accuracy.
Reconcile incoming funding receipts and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
Ensure all payoff checks and drafts are issued, sent, and cleared promptly.
Maintain complete and compliant documentation for all deals ("deal jackets").
Accurately file lien releases, titles, and related compliance records for audit readiness.
Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing and submitting required documentation.
Finalize and close deals in the accounting system once all financial and title processes are complete.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
3–5 years of relevant experience in dealership accounting, lease administration, or full-cycle accounting.
Previous experience working with accounting software and dealership management systems is a plus.
Proficiency in general ledger accounting, AR/AP, and reconciliations.
Familiarity with lien release, vehicle titling, and registration processes.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills and comfort working with digital accounting platforms.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communicator with strong organizational and time management skills
