Responsibilities
Demonstrate knowledge of the fundamental skills and techniques for the sport. Organize practices effectively and design an appropriate conditioning program in coordination with the varsity head coach and/or Athletic Director. Work cooperatively with the varsity head coach, Athletic Director, parents, students, staff, and the community. Maintain positive communication with players and parents. Instill commitment, discipline, and teamwork in students with varying athletic abilities and academic workloads. Support balance between academics and athletic commitments for student-athletes. Follow CIF/CCSBVAL Coaches Code of Conduct and district policies; follow district cash-handling protocols as delegated. Maintain and inventory equipment and uniforms as delegated by the varsity head coach and/or Athletic Director.
Qualifications
Playing experience in the sport at high school, collegiate, amateur, or professional level. Experience coaching youth leagues, middle school, or sports camps in the same sport, or equivalent experience. Current California coaching certifications and district-required certifications, including annual mandated reporter training. Must pass District Fingerprint clearance. Professional references. Must complete Edjoin online application, and submit a Cover Letter and Resume.
Requirements / Additional Qualifications
Fingerprint clearance and current TB test results. CPR, First Aid, ASEP, Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) Certification, Heat Illness Prevention, Mandated Reporter training, Sexual Harassment training, Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Prevention, Integrated Pest Management, and Concussion certification prior to employment. Coaching for the Second Team (50% over Category I, II or III) may apply depending on season requirements. Compensation is contingent on lifting of restrictions and team participation in the sports season. Must submit letter of introduction and resume as part of the application.
