We are actively seeking a highly skilled, technically proficient, and hands-on Platform Engineer to join our Emerging Technologies team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic, experimental environments and can manage complex technical projects from conception to completion. The successful candidate will be a creative problem-solver with strong communication skills and a passion for leveraging industry best practices in coding and architecture to drive design of efficient systems. This position is based out of the Piscataway, NJ location. Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Key Responsibilities

Architectural Design & Implementation

Strategic System Design: Design and implement robust, secure, and scalable application architectures aligned with team priorities. Ensure architectures are robust foundations for future expansion in consultation with the wider architecture team. Technology Stack Selection & Prototyping: Specify technical requirements, select stacks, and develop proof-of-concept architectures designed to evolve into full-scale, production-ready systems.

Project Leadership & Delivery

End-to-End Project Management: Lead planning, execution, and management of small-scale projects or significant sub-projects, defining scope, assessing resources, and setting realistic timelines in collaboration with peers. Technical Oversight: Provide guidance across engineering teams, conduct code reviews, and mentor peers to uphold best practices.

Cross-functional Collaboration

Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work with product managers, business analysts, and other engineering teams to ensure solutions meet technical specs and business requirements. Stakeholder Communication: Articulate complex technical concepts clearly to stakeholders with varying levels of expertise.

Technical Evaluation & Innovation

Industry Trend Analysis: Stay informed of industry trends and emerging technologies; evaluate their applicability and value through research, prototyping, and pilot projects. Standardization & Improvement: Advocate for new architecture standards, design patterns, and tools.

Quality Assurance & Best Practices

Code & Documentation Standards: Define and follow standards for clean code, documentation, and peer review. Clean Code Advocate: Promote maintainability and readability through sound coding practices. Testable Architectures: Ensure architectures are testable at all layers. Continuous Architectural Refinement: Regularly review and refine architectures to maintain security and best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Educational Foundation: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics or Engineering. Coding Proficiency: Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience with scripting languages such as JavaScript, Python, or similar. Proven Architectural Knowledge: Knowledge of architecture best practices with practical experience in system design and scalable solutions. Application Testing Knowledge: Familiarity with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing. Database & Data Modeling: Practical experience with relational databases and data modeling principles. Agile & Lean Methodologies: Understanding of Agile practices and continuous improvement in delivery cycles. Continuous Integration (CI) Platforms: Familiarity with CI tools such as GitHub Actions, CircleCI, TravisCI, or similar. Preferred Experience

Cloud Platform Development: Experience with cloud platforms, with a preference for Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Front-End Web Development: Experience building responsive front-end applications using HTML5, CSS, and modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue.js, or Angular). Compensation And Benefits

Salary Range $83,200.00 - $133,000.00 USD Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) with company matching contributions.
