Overview

Staff Counselor position located in Hanover, NH. Onsite only. Salary commensurate with experience. Regular full-time, 40 hours per week, 12 months per year. Open until filled. Responsibilities

Provide clinical services, including individual and group counseling, triage and initial assessments, crisis intervention, and participation in the 24-hour emergency coverage rotation. Conduct risk assessments and mandated risk assessments, and provide long-term community counseling referrals to Dartmouth College students. Provide culturally informed outreach and prevention services to students, faculty, and staff, with emphasis on the needs of BIPOC students. Participate in psycho-educational activities addressing students’ developmental needs and consult with faculty and staff regarding psychologically distressed students. Serve on campus-wide committees as appropriate. Required Qualifications

Education: PhD plus 2-3 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience; or Master of Social Work (MSW). Two to three years of direct clinical experience (inclusive of internship). Demonstrated experience providing counseling to BIPOC student populations and in developing programming addressing their unique counseling needs. College or university counseling center experience. License or license-eligible within two years of hire in New Hampshire required. Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a multidisciplinary college/university counseling center setting. Strong crisis intervention and consultation skills, including suicide assessment and intervention; ability to facilitate voluntary/involuntary hospitalization; ability to confer with faculty, staff and students regarding emergency situations.
