Overview

The incumbent will be responsible for scheduling patient appointments (diagnostic, surgical, therapy, physician office visits, and other procedures/treatments). The position requires obtaining and verifying necessary demographic and insurance information, registering patients, and entering data into the scheduling system. This role is in a call center type environment and involves meeting individual quality metrics. The incumbent will practice Baptist Health’s philosophy of service excellence in providing professional, compassionate and friendly service to patients of all ages, families, employees, physicians and community members. Responsibilities
Schedule patient appointments (diagnostic, surgical, therapy, physician office visits, and other procedures/treatments). Obtain and verify necessary demographic and insurance information. Register patients and enter data into the scheduling system. Work in a call center type environment and meet individual quality metrics. Provide professional, compassionate and friendly service in line with Baptist Health’s service philosophy. Qualifications
Degrees: High School, Cert, GED, Trn, Exper. Additional Qualifications
Complete and pass the Patient Access training course. Ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced work environment. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. Detail oriented, organized, team player, compassionate, excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills. Desired: Basic knowledge of medical and insurance terminology. Experience with computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, knowledge of EMR applications, etc.) and accurate typing skills. Knowledge of regulatory guidelines including HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, and Medicare coverage structure, including medical necessity compliance guidelines. Bilingual English, Spanish/Creole desirable.
