Board of Directors role at
Compass Rose International . This is a one-year term and a leadership position for guiding the strategic direction of the organization. Compass Rose International uplifts young women vulnerable to child trafficking and mental health, providing tools for resilience, confidence, safety, and independence in Nepal and Colorado. Responsibilities
Collaborate with other board members to provide strategic oversight, governance, and organizational planning. Assist in the development and implementation of strategic goals and objectives aligned with the mission. Oversee financial management, including budgeting and resource allocation. Engage in fundraising and resource development activities to support organizational sustainability. Advocate for the organization's mission and participate in community outreach. Attend and actively participate in regular board meetings (quarterly), committee meetings, and special events. Review and approve major policies, programmatic plans, and other critical decisions. Join at least one committee within the board, with options including: Program Committee Marketing Committee Governance & Nominating Committee Fundraising Committee Finance Committee INpowerment Day Planning Committee Gala Planning Committee Qualifications
Demonstrated commitment to the organization’s mission and core values. Experience in leadership roles, preferably in nonprofit boards or similar organizations. Strong understanding of nonprofit governance, financial strategies, and performance management. Ability to think strategically and critically, with excellent decision-making skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to advocate for and represent the organization. Willingness to commit time for board duties, including preparation, travel, and attendance at meetings. Fundraising, public speaking, or related skills are highly desirable.
