Overview
Director, Enterprise Strategy Realization - Remote. This role leads the strategy realization function of the Enterprise Strategy department, including organizational performance, operations excellence, and enterprise initiative / project management. You will work with multiple stakeholders, including executive leadership and cross-functional departments to implement key initiatives that realize the enterprise strategy. This role is fully remote and can be based anywhere in the U.S.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Organizational Performance framework and execution (30%): Lead development of enterprise performance metrics, KPIs and data definitions; advise on cascading KPIs to functions; lead development and continuous improvement of an enterprise performance review cycle (e.g., meaningful reports, meetings, decision-making moments such as quarterly business reviews); develop monthly/quarterly/annual monitoring and reporting to the Executive Team and Board of Directors.
Enterprise initiative approach and portfolio (30%): Track and manage the portfolio of enterprise strategic initiatives; lead or advise on initiative design, execution, and adoption; serve in a management role on initiative teams using project management, agile or lean methods.
Operations excellence approach and portfolio (20%): Lead process improvement initiatives in partnership with Information Technology and People departments; apply a holistic people/process/technology approach; lead operational excellence reviews, develop recommendations, and lead teams to implement approved changes, including change management.
Communities of Practice strategy and approach (10%): Develop and improve an enterprise-wide Strategy Community of Practice to share best practices; identify leaders/facilitators, and foster shared ownership and governance across functions.
Flexible Strategy Consulting and Leadership (10%): As part of a flexible internal consulting function, partner with the Enterprise Strategy department to manage and prioritize requests and perform other duties as assigned end-to-end.
EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (minimum).
Master's Degree (MBA, MA in Nonprofit Management, or relevant advanced degree) preferred.
10+ years of experience in nonprofit management, strategy, and/or project management (preferably in health and human services nonprofit).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
10+ years of experience in nonprofit management, strategy, and/or project management; collaborative leadership engaging senior and executive leaders.
Strong knowledge of American Cancer Society programs, strategies, and organizational infrastructure, or equivalent experience in a complex nonprofit or for-profit environment.
3+ years of experience in organizational performance, scorecards, KPI/OKR development, and metrics reporting; proficiency with data reporting/visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Salesforce reporting).
3+ years of experience leading end-to-end enterprise-wide initiatives, including design, leadership, and change management; familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Monday.com, PlanView).
3+ years of experience designing and facilitating meetings with 3-200+ attendees across leadership levels.
Proven leadership across cross-functional teams and coalition-building abilities.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS Limited travel, up to 10%.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office environment.
No or very limited physical effort required.
No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
The starting rate is $125,000 to $140,000. Final offer will reflect relevant experience/skills and may vary based on location, experience, and education.
