POSITION SUMMARY As a Senior Project Safety Manager, your core responsibility is to ensure a safe and healthy environment on your assigned project. You’ll work closely with all levels of project management and field supervision to align on operational priorities and lead efforts focused on identifying, avoiding, and eliminating jobsite hazards. Your primary mission is to prevent incidents, injuries, and losses by driving a proactive safety culture where accountability and communication keep everyone protected and empowered every day.
RESPONSIBILITIES
New worker safety orientation
Lead all new worker orientations on site, delivering clear, impactful safety onboarding.
Keep orientation materials up to date with site conditions and lessons learned.
Task Hazard Analysis (THA)
Support both Pepper teams and trade partners with meaningful THAs.
Participate regularly in crew THA meetings to ensure hazards are addressed.
Collect and file all safety paperwork, including:
Site‑specific safety plans
SDSs
THAs
Toolbox talks
Work permits
Manage Ground Penetrating Underground Protection (GPUP) permits
Crane lift plans, annual crane inspection, operator cards
Verify, collect and file all training certifications
Verify compliance with OSHA, Pepper Construction and client safety requirements
Ensure high‑risk activities (confined space entry, hoisting operations, LO/TO, hot work, excavations, fall exposures, etc.) are being executed correctly
Facilitate and attend all safety pre‑installation meetings
Attend foreman’s meetings and lead safety discussions
Schedule project team safety audits and site audits
Perform regular, thorough jobsite safety audits and document in SafetyNet or other audit program required by the project
Inspect fire extinguishers and facilitate extinguisher recharging/replacing
Complete incident reports
Lead incident investigations and complete appropriate documentation
Manage critical dig supervision and act as the competent observer when needed
Plan safe access and exit routes
Plan pedestrian traffic and public safety routes
Act as the safety liaison between Pepper and client representatives
Enter all safety‑related documents into Autodesk and other applicable online software
Represent Pepper Construction in all safety‑related meetings with client representatives
REQUIREMENTS
The Senior Project Safety Manager shall have no other duties than safety‑related tasks
Must meet one of the following:
Degreed safety professional with at least 7+ years of safety‑related tasks in the construction industry
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) as recognized by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals with at least 5+ years of construction experience
Have completed the OSHA 30‑hour Construction Safety course and possess at least 10 years of full‑time safety experience in construction

The salary range for this position is $110,000 – $150,000. We consider many factors when determining the actual hiring salary, including location, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, internal equity, and market demands.
