Senior Environmental/Civil Engineer Dewberry is currently seeking a Senior Environmental/Civil Engineer for our Northeast Environmental Business Unit based out of Parsippany, NJ. The position will perform a variety of environmental engineering tasks in support of navigation channel maintenance dredging operations including beneficial use, coastal restoration, stormwater management, resiliency planning, and environmental permitting in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. The Senior Environmental/Civil Engineer must be flexible, client‑focused and capable of working independently, while supporting a team that includes engineers, scientists, and field personnel.

Responsibilities

Prepares plans and specifications for dredging projects.

Analyzes sediment management options and hydraulic analysis.

Coordinates field inspections during construction and soil/groundwater sampling.

Plans and coordinates aspects of work, including scope, budgets and schedules.

Supports proposal development and prepares technical reports and memorandums.

Manages multiple concurrent projects and communicates with clients, coworkers, subconsultants and agency review staff.

Provides field sampling and contractor oversight at locations in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.

Prepares construction plans and specifications and collaborative calculations/analysis.

Uses AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS, and GIS software to support design and analysis.

Required Skills & Experience

BS in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related field.

Minimum 15 years of experience.

PE (NJ, NY, or PA) required.

OSHA 40‑hr certification.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Knowledge of FEMA, USACE, USCG, NJDEP, NYSDEC, NYCDEP and/or PADEP requirements.

Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS, HydroCAD.

Hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, bridge scour analysis, stormwater management, roadway drainage design for transportation projects.

Experience with 2‑D hydraulic modeling desired.

Driving required with a clean driving record.

Supports Practice Leads and Management.

Compensation and Benefits The projected range for this position is $157,150 to $202,050 annually, depending on skills, experience, location and market conditions.
