Staffing Coordinator - Nursing Admin - Full Time 12 Hour Nights (Non-Exempt) (Non-Union)

The Staffing Coordinator will provide support to Nursing Supervisors, Managers, and Directors to ensure adequate and appropriate nursing staff for each shift. The role involves collecting and filing documentation related to agency staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory reporting requirements, and collaborating closely with Clinical Administrative Supervisors to plan and adjust staffing as needed. The Coordinator manages daily Kronos adjustments, processes registry requests, and may oversee facility‑wide scheduling and timekeeping.
Essential Duties
Administrative Responsibilities (30%) – Ensure records are up to date and maintained according to regulatory guidelines, maintain orderly workspace, scan and store records per departmental policy, manage float/flex logs, and utilize scheduling software to assign staff accurately.
Compile Reports (30%) – Review and respond to written and verbal communications, facilitate staffing huddles, maintain Kronos, complete staffing plans by 17:30/05:30, distribute assignments to nurse leads, and submit revisions in the designated timeframe.
Team Collaboration (20%) – Work with CAS during shifts to maintain California staffing standards, communicate staffing changes to Nurse Leads, and collaborate with staffers/CAS at Norris for campus‑wide staffing.
Other (20%) – Adhere to KNOWN standards, maintain professional conduct, use proper phone etiquette, and communicate urgent matters via text or call.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
1 year experience as a staffing specialist/clerk in an acute hospital setting (unit secretary experience may substitute).
Experience with computerized scheduling and general office procedures.
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Problem‑solving ability and independent work capability.
Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
Ability to operate effectively within a fast‑paced, multi‑distraction setting.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s degree in a related field.
2 years of experience in a related field.
Experience utilizing Kronos for payroll.
Required Licenses/Certifications
Fire Life Safety Training (LA City). If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and renewed before expiration.
The hourly rate range for this position is $22.00 - $34.11.
