Staffing Coordinator - Nursing Admin - Full Time 12 Hour Nights (Non-Exempt) (Non-Union)
Keck Medicine of USC seeks a Staffing Coordinator to support Nursing Supervisors, Managers, and Directors in ensuring adequate staffing for each shift. The Coordinator will collect and file agency staff documentation, assist with compliance and regulatory reporting, adjust Kronos schedules, manage daily registry requests, and facilitate staffing/ patient flow planning huddles across multiple facilities. Essential Duties
Administrative Responsibilities (30%) – Ensure records are current and maintained per regulatory guidelines, maintain a neat workspace, scan and store records electronically, manage float/flex logs, and use timekeeping software to assign staff to correct units. Compile forecasts, complete staffing projections, and maintain sick call logs. Compile reports (30%) – Review and respond to all written and verbal communications, facilitate staffing huddles, assign staff in Kronos, update sick calls, plan next shift staffing by 1730/0530, post assignments for nurse leads, and submit staffing revisions in a timely manner. Team Work/Collaboration (20%) – Work with CAS to ensure staffing aligns with California staffing standards, communicate staffing changes to Nurse Leads, and collaborate with staffers/CAS at Norris to facilitate campus-wide staffing. Other (20%) – Maintain professionalism, adhere to KNOWN standards, use proper phone etiquette, handle non‑urgent email and urgent text/call communication, and report concerns to Manager or CAS. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. 1 year experience as a staffing specialist or clerk in an acute hospital setting (unit secretary experience may substitute). Experience with computerized scheduling and general office procedures. Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and effective oral and written communication. Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently. High organization and attention to detail. Capacity to multitask and perform in a fast‑paced environment with multiple distractions. Preferred Qualifications
Associate's degree in a related field. 2 years of related experience. Experience utilizing Kronos for payroll. Required Licenses/Certifications
Fire Life‑Safety Training (LA City). If not possessed at hire, must obtain within 30 days and maintain renewal before expiration. The hourly rate for this position ranges from $22.00 to $34.11.
