General Purpose
The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely SEC filings, including Forms 10-Q and 10-K, other internal and external reporting, technical research projects including creating and updating technical accounting memos, and ad-hoc analysis within the Finance department of Ross Stores.
The base salary range for this role is $93,000 - $140,400. The base salary range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.
Essential Functions
Prepare the quarterly and annual external financial reports, including those filed with the SEC.
Update and monitor the quarterly 10-Q/K PBC lists.
Partner closely with other business areas to review and ensure the accuracy of financial reports including, but not limited to Treasury, Legal, Accounting, FP&A, and Investor Relations, as part of the reporting process.
Prepare filings within the Workiva software tool.
Prepare 10-Q/K tie-out binder.
Review 10-Q/K iXBRL tags to ensure accuracy of concepts.
Prepare the quarterly and annual disclosure checklists.
Assist with quarterly board variance analyses and reporting.
Manage the quality review process for Earnings Release materials, including preparing tie-outs.
External audit coordination including workpaper preparation for the 10-Q/K process.
Monitor, research, interpret, and assess new U.S. GAAP pronouncements and SEC reporting requirements, and succinctly present their impact on the Company's financial statements, disclosures, and reporting processes.
Prepare the Company's 401(k) financial statements.
Support other significant or unusual transactions including impact on accounting and disclosure.
Complete and/or coordinate census survey(s).
Research, document, and resolve technical accounting matters.
Proof and validate internal and external press releases, board and audit committee materials, sales releases, earnings releases, proxy filings, and other filings with the SEC.
Work with Accounting and others to update Ross' Accounting Policies and Procedures manual.

Bachelor's degree required (preferably in accounting/finance).
CPA or CPA candidate a plus.
3-5 years post-college experience (within a Big 4 accounting firm, retail company, or within a financial reporting group).
Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations.
Strong understanding of SOX and internal controls.
A detail-oriented approach – must pay close attention to the details and have the drive to get things right.
Strong Excel, Word, PowerPoint skills, and Visio. Workiva and Peoplesoft Financial Systems experience is a plus.
Ability to cope with pressure and changing priorities.
Trustworthy with confidential financial information.

Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer. Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc. Consistent timeliness and regular attendance. Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically. This role requires regular in-office presence, including to engage in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback. However, this role can perform duties effectively using a combination of in-office and remote work.
