Walgreens Overview The Pharmacy Operations Manager is accountable for day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations and administrative activities where allowed by state and federal laws/regulations. This role ensures an efficient pharmacy workflow and a positive patient experience and may serve as a full-time certified pharmacy technician where applicable. Responsibilities

Operate pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. Supervise pharmacy technicians and pharmacy cashiers within company policies, laws, regulations and business ethics. Select, schedule, and develop pharmacy technician personnel. Lead training, coaching, and performance management of technicians. Make decisions regarding performance management, including discipline and termination. Engage customers and patients by greeting them, assisting with products and services, resolving complaints, responding to requests, and ensuring a positive customer experience. Model and share customer service best practices. Develop relationships with customers by anticipating needs and offering services to enhance the pharmacy experience and focus on healthcare services. Assist the pharmacist in patient care activities, including patient registration, prescription data entry, preparation of medications, counting, and verification where allowed by law. Support healthcare services such as administering vaccines and health screenings where permitted by law. Delegate, direct, and assign non-clinical work in the pharmacy in accordance with policies and laws; ensure on-time task completion and maintain efficient workflow. Prepare and file reports and records required by the company and government agencies under pharmacist direction. Manage core pharmacy workflow, organize daily schedules, allocate hours, and maintain a clean, stocked environment. Oversee non-clinical inventory management and recordkeeping; ensure security safeguards and compliance with policies. Support recordkeeping for Good Faith Dispensing in accordance with policy and ensure completion of non-clinical patient calls. Drive technology and process roll-outs, engage the team in action planning, and ensure proper operation of pharmacy equipment. Coordinate with the Pharmacy Manager on off-site immunization clinics and community events; maintain relationships with retail partnerships. People & Performance Management

Lead performance management of technicians, including discipline decisions, and ensure compliance with state and federal laws. Oversee technician hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and accountability for timely training completion. Identify knowledge gaps and provide training or learning modules to improve operations. Ensure licensure, registrations, and certifications are active and compliant; document licensure status using available Walgreens resources. Follow company policy for recruitment, record retention, and training as required by law. Training & Personal Development

Maintain PTCB certification and any required state certifications/registrations. Keep current knowledge of pharmacy and healthcare; pursue certifications and education as required by the Company. Engage in professional development, seek feedback, and leverage leadership resources for coaching. Communication

Communicate with the pharmacy team and relay messages from support centers or key emails. Participate in store/pharmacy meetings and weekly check-ins with the Store Manager. Basic Qualifications

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico). One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in retail or hospital setting. Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico). Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (except in certain locations). Preferred Qualifications

Previous people management/leadership experience. Previous Walgreens experience with an Exceeding Expectation on last performance evaluation.
