Brewer-Garrett is a facility solutions company. Our goal is to make buildings more energy-efficient through HVAC design, electrical upgrades, building automation systems design and installation, maintenance, and repair. We are a solution-based business with a proven track record of saving our clients\' money through reduced energy usage while improving their overall carbon footprint. We are looking for a driven and team-oriented Senior Energy Engineer passionate about energy conservation to join the team. Duties/Responsibilities
Lead project teams of internal and external resources to deliver energy conservation projects. Operate at a high level of accuracy and productivity in developing energy conservation projects and self-direct project development activities. Interface with internal mechanical and electrical engineers, project managers, estimators, energy auditors, proposal specialists, automation engineers, service specialists, and executive management. Articulate and convey specific technical information to customers regarding their facilities and relevant improvement or efficiency opportunities. Conduct field energy surveys of facilities; interact with customers and potential customers to obtain information and build productive relationships. Complete utility data analysis and interpret results for project and proposal development. Work with the sales team in the development of field projects; support the delivery of presentations. Provide project details and requirements to the proposal team for responses to RFPs. Complete reports and spreadsheets of solutions; work with project managers and estimators when developing project costs. Build rapport and productive relationships with internal team members, leadership, customers, vendors, and other stakeholders. Develop savings calculations that are realistic and achievable; communicate the background of calculations and refine energy calculations as needed. Act as audit lead or audit technical support as assigned. Stay current with existing and future technologies and pertinent certifications. Provide support for special projects as assigned by the Energy Services Manager or Energy Engineering Manager. Other duties within the scope of the Senior Energy Engineer role. Supervisor Responsibilities
Oversee, direct, and evaluate the work of assigned Energy Engineers. Responsible for hiring, training, and performance management of subordinates. Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Engineering. Minimum five years of engineering experience with knowledge of energy systems, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and sustainable practices for higher education, healthcare, government facilities, K-12 markets, and industrial manufacturing facilities. Prior experience leading a team as a supervisor or team lead of a defined team and/or project. E.M. certification and Professional Engineer status a plus. Driver\'s license and reliable transportation. Willingness to travel. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong technical knowledge of energy efficiency practices and programs. Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe PDF; highly proficient in Excel. Strong communication skills (oral and written); able to relay information to various audiences including customers, managers, leadership, and colleagues. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to foster positive working relationships. Collaborative and able to share details routinely with team members. Self-managing and able to work autonomously while integrating with project teammates to meet deadlines. Positive, proactive problem solving to add value and support company success. Innovative and determined in demanding situations. Ability to manage time, schedules, and project budgets; strong organizational skills. Analytical skills to analyze data, identify trends, evaluate problems, and propose resolutions; good negotiation skills. Strong mathematical skills for calculations, audits, and budget reviews. Professionalism and tact in all interactions; ability to maintain satisfactory attendance. Working Conditions
This job operates primarily in a professional office environment and involves travel to job sites. This role uses standard office equipment and may require walking in buildings and mechanical rooms, interior and exterior, year-round. Will require driving to appointments and job sites; travel may include multiple nights and possibly air travel. Physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, handling objects, climbing stairs, and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.
