Husky TechnologiesTM Canadian manufacturing facilities and global headquarters are located in Bolton, Ontario on a large campus located about 20 minutes north of Toronto’s Pearson International Airport. Role overview In this role, you will help extend the longevity of Husky equipment by installing products such as Encore and Refurbishment upgrades. These upgrades update legacy injection molding equipment with new technologies and control systems to extend their operating lifespan.
Note: This position requires frequent travel during the business week, as well as some weekends.
Responsibilities
Support the installation of Husky's Encore products, replacing obsolete controls technology with newer solutions.
Use electrical schematics to rewire cabinets to accommodate new PLCs, related I/O, and other circuits.
Troubleshoot electrical, software, and related hydraulic/pneumatic/servo-driven systems using schematics, work instructions, or by conferring with subject matter experts located in the call center or other teams.
Lead and/or assist in rebuilding hydraulic and mechanical systems related to injection molding machines.
Learn to ensure a machine is mechanically leveled and aligned prior to operation.
Work with Lead Encore Technicians to ensure customers achieve optimal running conditions of our products.
Assume complete ownership of equipment from shutdown to startup after the Encore Upgrade to ensure customer satisfaction.
Submit continuous improvement initiatives towards product or process.
Mentor new team members and customers to correctly start-up and troubleshoot equipment.
Qualifications
Electromechanical degree or equivalent with at least 2 years of experience in an industrial setting.
Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics for understanding and troubleshooting related systems.
Experience working with PLCs or industrial controllers to transfer software and/or diagnose fieldbus and sensor issues.
Ability to work within a team to accomplish a common goal, in both lead and supporting roles.
Familiarity with injection molding systems is preferred but not required.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
