Assistant Professor - Counseling, Leadership, Literacy, and Special Education (CLLSE)
Lehman College, of The City University of New York, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Counselor Education: Clinical Mental Health Counseling within the Department of Counseling, Leadership, Literacy, and Special Education (CLLSE). The successful candidate will teach graduate-level courses (on campus and online) in Counselor Education: Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with possible undergraduate teaching. Responsibilities include teaching 18 credits per academic year, service to the college and department, advising masters students, and maintaining an active program of research and scholarship, including publications and presentations. The faculty engages in CACREP compliance and program development, and may participate in program and clinical coordination. Responsibilities include: Maintain teaching load of 18 credits per academic year. Teach online and on-campus courses; may teach undergraduate courses. Contribute to program, committee, and department assignments; administrative, supervisory, course development; CACREP compliance. Advise master’s students; engage in scholarship and professional activity. Participate in college, school, department, and university committees; participate in student recruitment and admissions. Engage in program and clinical coordination as needed. Qualifications Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Counselor Education or related field; CACREP accreditation preferred or equivalent demonstrated through full-time faculty experience. Evidence of excellence in graduate-level teaching (in-person and online). Experience with diverse student populations and a demonstrated commitment to social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion. Ongoing record of scholarship; strong organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to work collegially. Current New York State License as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) is required. Preferred: Experience teaching research methods; developing professional development workshops; involvement in assessment, recruitment, and advisement. Compensation $86,741 – $102,017.
