Overview Zurich is hiring a Claims Specialist I to join their Auto Claims Team. This role involves interpreting, investigating, and evaluating auto policies and coverage issues, as well as claims handling and best practices. You will manage auto liability property damage and comparative negligence losses, handling both comprehensive/collision and auto liability property damage claims. You will own assigned claims end to end, resolving claims according to best practices, and build partnerships with customers and brokers.
Work Arrangement The Zurich North America Claims hybrid work model emphasizes flexibility, allowing claims employees to work in their preferred location while enabling in-person connections when meaningful. Occasional in-office attendance should be expected. The candidate selected for this opportunity should be able to report to North American Claims offices in Atlanta, GA; Addison, TX; Schaumburg, IL; or Omaha, NE.
Responsibilities
Interpret and investigate auto claims, determine coverage, and apply best practices in claims handling.
Manage auto liability property damage and comparative negligence losses from end to end.
Handle comprehensive/collision and auto liability property damage claims.
Partner with customers and brokers to deliver service excellence.
Maintain accurate claim files and adhere to regulatory and company requirements.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and 2+ years of experience in Claims or Insurance OR
Completion of Zurich Claims Training Program and 2+ years of experience OR
Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with Associate Degree and 2+ years of experience OR
High School Diploma or equivalent and 4+ years of experience in Claims or Insurance
Prior experience in auto claims handling or related customer service; understanding of auto insurance policies, coverage, and state regulations
Must obtain and maintain required adjuster licenses
Customer service experience
Knowledge of insurance regulations, markets, and products
Preferred Qualifications
Insurance industry terminology
3+ years of experience handling auto and property damage claims
3+ years of experience handling comprehensive/collision claims
Analytical and organizational skills
Ability to multi-task and adapt to a changing environment
Strong communication skills
Compensation and Location Compensation is influenced by location, role, skill set, and experience. The proposed salary range for this position is $48,600.00 - $79,500.00, with a short-term incentive bonus eligibility of 10%. The nationwide range does not reflect geographic differentials for the filled location.
