Overview
The King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office is looking for highly motivated individuals to join our team as a Legal Administrative Professional I. This role involves a variety of legal office support tasks performed under general supervision, requiring the ability to exercise sound independent judgment. Work Location: King County Courthouse, 516 3rd Ave, Seattle, WA 98104 Work Schedule: 40-hour work week, normally Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. An alternative schedule is subject to supervisor approval. Hybrid work schedule with a minimum of 2 days in office per week; new King County PAO employees may be in the office four days a week for the first six months. Salary: Range 38 - $28.19 (step one) - $35.73 (step ten) hourly. Union Membership: Teamsters Local No. 117. Benefits: King County offers a comprehensive benefits package. Responsibilities
Process certified requests for the entire District Court Unit (Kent, Redmond, Seattle & DV-Misd (Kent)). Work within PbK - MyView/Reminders to manage daily requests. Verify all documents have been received; scan and upload into PbK. Manage closed disc electronic evidence; receive and route calls and provide information per PAO policy. Monitor and distribute faxes for DCU; assist Discovery Paralegal with managing evidence (including discs). Maintain inventory and order office supplies for the District Court Unit (including Redmond and MRJC). Request repairs for copy machines and printers; provide back-up to the Criminal Division front reception as needed. Interact with Courts, Clerk’s office, law enforcement, defense attorneys, and PAO staff; retrieve information from PbK, DISCIS, SCOMIS, ECR and other systems. Provide assistance to the LSP Supervisor, Unit Chair, and Vice Chairs; participate in PAO equity work and trainings. Support special projects as they arise and adapt to evolving business needs. Qualifications
Knowledge of general office principles and procedures, particularly in the criminal justice system. Ability to manage tasks from start to finish and obtain required information for completion. Proficiency with computer programs and databases (PbK training provided), Word, Excel, Adobe Pro, JABS, ITS. Effective written and verbal communication; ability to follow directions and work with diverse stakeholders. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks amid interruptions. Customer service skills, discretion, professionalism in person and on the phone. Ability to meet deadlines, work independently or in a team, and handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
