The Maintenance Manager is responsible for implementing and maintaining a successful maintenance program that includes maintenance, repair, and improvement of facility equipment, machinery, buildings, and related safety systems. This role requires competency in problem solving, team building, and decision making, and involves establishing and maintaining the department's CMMS. Must be available for travel for training and development programs, and for ongoing training and development of staff.

This role requires onsite work 5 days/week in Petaluma, CA. Requires the ability to support a 24/7 operation.

What You’ll Do as a Maintenance Manager

Direct maintenance activities and support for 24/7/365 operations. Respond to emergency maintenance calls as needed and be available for troubleshooting or issues that cannot be resolved by maintenance staff.

Establish and promote the Preventive Maintenance Program, review its effectiveness, analyze unplanned downtime, develop corrective actions, and use the CMMS to reduce or eliminate future occurrences.

Strive for continuous improvement by analyzing new or alternative ways to improve operations; incorporate staff recommendations into analysis; respond to audit activities constructively and use findings to improve operations.

Ensure equipment remains operational in accordance with validated parameters and maintain proper change‑control documentation.

Maintain equipment, building, grounds, utilities, janitorial services, and associated contracts.

Maintain mechanical and technical skills by attending workshops, reviewing trade publications, and training others for minor repairs. Address any training deficiencies noted.

Care for federal, state, and local regulations compliance and ensure facility inspections can be conducted at any time.

Develop and implement training programs for Maintenance Technicians covering safety procedures, LOTO, electrical safety, equipment operation, and work procedures.

Determine staffing schedules to ensure 24/7/365 operation and emergency coverage; potentially act as the emergency response coordinator.

Recruit, orient, train, evaluate, and provide performance feedback for new and existing staff, promoting growth and providing corrective counseling as needed.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree.

Minimum of four (4) years of industrial maintenance experience with knowledge of pneumatics, welding, mechanics, hydraulics, electrical, PLCs, and electronic applications; OR high school diploma/GED with minimum of twelve (12) years of experience.

Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or management experience.

Computer literacy including word processing, spreadsheets, and software capabilities.

Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate in English; work independently under general guidelines and supervision.

Effective interpersonal skills, above‑average organizing skills, Level 2 math skills, ability to adapt to changing duties, influence opinions, read blueprints and schematics, supervise outside contractors, and normal hearing range sufficient to hear alarms.

Pay range for this opportunity is $92,750 – $125,000. This position is eligible for bonus participation. Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums if higher than the range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, experience, education, certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
