GreenWaste specializes in all aspects of material collection, processing, and sales, tailoring our service offerings to the unique needs of our customers and communities, and helping to shape the evolution of the solid waste and recycling industry. We work directly with 20+ municipalities and 50+ jurisdictions, operate highly regulated facilities in 10+ locations, and have 1,000+ employees. We are seeking a successful Sr. RFP and Grants Writer to join our team. This position is expected to work out of our corporate office in San Jose and some job-related travel may be required. Position Summary
GreenWaste is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented and strategic Sr. RFP and Grants Writer to lead the development of proposals, grants, and award submissions that support GreenWaste’s growth and community impact. This role is ideal for a skilled communicator who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is passionate about turning ideas into compelling written narratives. Essential Functions And Responsibilities
Lead the writing and editing of RFPs, proposals, grants, and award applications Monitor relevant websites and databases for new RFP and grant opportunities Work collaboratively with teams across the organization to bring innovative ideas to life and secure funding that drives real change Shape clear, compelling messages that resonate with funders, partners, and community stakeholders Develop timelines and manage deadlines for all writing projects Coordinate with graphic designers to produce visual aids (charts, diagrams, etc.) Review and proofread documents for accuracy, tone, and consistency Other duties as needed Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders Excellent writing and grammatical skills Ability to manage projects and contract compliance tracking Able to organize, multitask, balance competing priorities while meeting strict deadlines Ability to present complex data in clear, concise text Ability to edit and proofread work of colleagues Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in English, Writing, or related field required Three to five years of RFP/Grant writing experience required Language Skill
Proficiency in English (proficiency in Spanish helpful) Physical Demands
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Work Environment
The typical work week is Monday through Friday. Compensation And Benefits
Financial compensation will be commensurate with applicable experience.
