Overview
Senior Human Resources Manager, Employee Relations will manage the employee relations function of Shared Services support and provide HR manager support to the business when needed. Reports to the HR vice president and collaborates with HR teams supporting Akima's businesses. Primary focus: manage employee relations, ethics cases, case management system, process improvements, auditing, and data integrity. Serve as advisor to HR team, identify trends, handle complex and sensitive employee relations cases, track union grievances, and produce metrics. Lead projects across the HR Operations function to reduce repetitive administrative tasks. Responsibilities
Manage the EthicsPoint case system and drive process accountability to all users. Lead and own assigned projects and initiatives with clear expectations and priorities for stakeholders. Manage and investigate senior-level cases, keeping stakeholders engaged and providing recommendations. Support process improvement initiatives and act as a change agent. Provide regular training to users when updates are implemented. Collaborate with the HR operations leadership team and HR managers to support employee retention, employee relations, management coaching, performance management, terminations, and change management. Provide configuration and process/procedure recommendations aligned with Akima’s growth goals. Audit employee relations cases to ensure data integrity and accountability. Work with operations and shared service teams to address project and employee needs. Other duties as assigned; occasional travel up to 25%. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field (or equivalent). Minimum 8 years of experience as an HR business partner or HR manager. Minimum 5 years of government contracting industry experience. Experience leading a centralized employee relations function and managing a case management system. Demonstrated project management experience in a fast-paced, growth environment. Hands-on support for diverse employee populations (1,000+ employees) in compliance with local laws. Strong verbal and written communication, presentation, consulting, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. Ability to work cross-functionally with various departments and find solutions. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Ability to pass a thorough background check including a credit check.
