Overview

Theory Course Coordinator for the DNP Program – Spring/Summer 2026. This is a faculty teaching assignment within the DNP AP or DNP Executive Program. The TCC teaches the theory component of the curriculum, promotes student learning, and integrates content with related clinical courses as applicable. The TCC incorporates evidence-based practice and demonstrates knowledge and competence appropriate to the course level. The TCC reports to the Track Coordinators and Program Director and Associate Director. Position Term

The position term is a semester in duration and renewed based on the program’s needs, satisfactory clinical evaluations, and approval of the Track and/or Program Director. Responsibilities

Guide, evaluate, and oversee the attainment of competencies for students; review and deploy syllabus content. Maintain weekly office hours (minimum of 2 hours) for student support. Provide virtual synchronous sessions for content reinforcement and student support as determined by course needs. Grade student assignments in a timely manner in line with the syllabus, providing constructive feedback to support learning. Identify students at risk for not meeting course outcomes and collaborate with the Track Director to develop and communicate corrective actions, in writing, by mid-term and before course end. Check official Johns Hopkins University (JHU) email daily Monday through Friday and respond to students within 48 business hours. Demonstrate proficiency in online teaching tools and digital platforms; guide students and preceptors in navigating these systems for communication, documentation, and evaluation. Use a syllabus boilerplate template; ensure fixed elements (course name, credits, description, objectives, topical outline) are included. Any changes require approval by the DNP Curriculum Committee and Track Director. Prepare, review, and manage the Canvas site; maintain ongoing communication with the course-specific Track Director at designated intervals throughout the semester (e.g., start of term, post mid-term evaluations, end of term before posting final grades). Qualifications

MSN required; doctoral degree preferred. Active, unencumbered RN and APRN license, with certification in the specialty area and a minimum of 2 years of direct care experience in an advanced nursing practice role. Previous experience as a clinical educator or preceptor is preferred. Strong organizational skills and excellent written and oral communication; ability to collaborate with diverse partners and maintain professionalism. Remote position with requirement for synchronous online sessions as identified in the requirements. Application Instructions

The salary ranges are provided as a guide and may vary by geographic location, skills, and experience. See the posting for the specific range: starting rates based on role (Clinical Instructor: $5,000-$5,200 per month; Theory/Clinical Course Coordinator: $3,500-$7,000 per month; Co-Coordinator: $1,750-$3,500 per month; Project Advisor: $3,500 per month; Course Developer: $2,000 per month).
