Responsibilities
Develops curriculum content and educational resources for outreach and undergraduate courses. Coordinates scheduling, communication, and logistics for workshops, events, and outreach initiatives. Cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with school district leaders, science coordinators, and community organizations across Wisconsin. Collaborates with faculty instructors, and design, implement, and evaluate new initiatives that enhance undergraduate biomedical sciences education through innovative technology and pedagogy. Creates and maintains documents, spreadsheets, and reports using standard productivity tools. Ensures alignment with Next Generation Science Standards, Wisconsin State Science Standards, and continuing education requirements for Wisconsin K-12 educators. Serve as a strategic leader in conceptualizing long-term goals for outreach and educational innovation aligned with departmental and institutional priorities. Exercises independent judgment in programmatic decisions, budget allocation, and partner engagement. Assists in developing outreach materials and advertising for programs. Provides consultation to university faculty on best practices in pedagogy, accessibility, and outreach grounded in educational research and state policy. Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Master's degree in education, science education, curriculum and instruction, or related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in K-12 science education, including classroom teaching and curriculum development. Preferred Knowledge, Skills And Abilities: Ph.D. In Education, science education, curriculum and instruction or related field. Experience in higher education settings or biomedical sciences education. Background in community-based educational outreach or public engagement. Strong Communication And Organizational Skills.
