Overview
Sr. Project Engineer role at Curtiss-Wright Corporation. Location: East Farmingdale, NY. Salary/hourly range: $94,700 to $136,900. This position directs all engineering aspects of projects related to design, development, and supply of high-pressure valves for nuclear power or industrial valve applications. Valves supplied must meet customer purchase order and specification requirements as well as applicable industry codes. Provides support to planning, purchasing, manufacturing, quality, contracts, programs, and assembly departments, including proposals needing engineering inputs, engineering changes (ECOs), vendor support, quality audits, and dispositioning of non-conforming hardware to resolve in-process issues and maintain product flow. Ten (10) years of valve and/or power plant experience. Must be a US citizen. Knowledge of valve products and industry requirements. Comprehensive knowledge of configuration management and design control. Working knowledge of applicable ASME and other codes. Strong analytical and decision-making skills. Knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite, Mathcad, and ANSYS. Ability to comprehend information daily and make independent decisions. Responsibilities
Direct all engineering aspects of projects related to design, development, and supply of high-pressure valves for nuclear power or industrial valve applications. Ensure valves meet customer specifications and industry codes. Provide engineering input for proposals, ECOs, vendor support, quality audits, and dispositioning of non-conforming hardware. Support planning, purchasing, manufacturing, quality, contracts, and programs, as required. Review specifications for compliance with proposed design and prepare/release design drawings and procedures. Prepare and review design and qualification reports; direct qualification test programs. Interpret applicable customer specifications and industry codes (ASME BPVC, ASTM, ANSI, AMS, IEEE, etc.). Disposit ion non-complying equipment in a timely manner and resolve assembly/test problems. Support Energy Products Sales bid and proposal activities and provide technical support to customers as required. Ensure all project technical requirements are captured on the project BOM. Participate in cross-functional teams and assist the Engineering Manager with training and day-to-day EP Project Engineering functions. Other responsibilities as assigned by Manager/Supervisor. Four (4) year Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Nuclear). Master of Science degree in Engineering (preferred). Professional Engineering Registration (preferred).
