Overview
The Cytotechnologist examines all types of cytology cases microscopically, identifies and marks appropriate cells, and renders the correct diagnosis of each case. This role makes the final diagnosis on gynecologic samples evaluated as negative, with changes of and including moderate cervicitis. It makes the preliminary diagnosis on all abnormal gynecologic cases going into sign-out (greater than moderate cervicitis) and all non-gynecologic cases. Works under the general direction of a Pathologist. $10,000 Sign On Bonus

Licensure and Certification
Certified as a Cytotechnologist by the American Society for Clinical Pathology within 6 months of employment in position
Licensure, Certification, or Registration for continued employment: Current CT (ASCP)
Experience
Experience REQUIRED: N/A
Experience PREFERRED: One (1) year of clinical work experience as a Cytotechnologist
Education/Training
REQUIRED: Bachelor Degree in Health Science (Cytotechnology Track)
PREFERRED: Masters Degree in Cytotechnology or Clinical Lab Science from an accredited program
Independent Action
Makes diagnostic decisions on cytologic cases and applies the appropriate criteria to correctly interpret the cases.
In cytopreparation, makes correct decisions about the handling of samples for optimal preparations.
