Modeling & Simulation Software Engineer
1 or 2
to work at our Northridge, CA location. This is an on-site role only and there will be
no remote work .
Job Responsibilities The successful candidate will gain expertise in developing, operating, and analyzing the outputs of the various simulations we use to model the AARGM family of missile systems. The primary simulations are written in C++, with analysis tools written in Python and MATLAB. Tasking may also include assisting in developing scenarios to use the simulations to verify weapon system requirements, integrating our models into a HIL system, emulating weapon system hardware, and integrating our simulations into a wider system of simulations.
Our modeling and simulation team is a multidisciplinary team in which each member may have opportunities to work in software development, systems engineering, model and algorithm development, and various types of analysis. The group is an excellent place for engineers interested in gaining a broad understanding of a missile system. The initial focus of this position will be software development.
Basic Qualifications for a Modeling & Simulation Software Engineer (Level 1)
BS degree in software engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, systems engineering, or a related field is required with 1 year of experience.
Experience with C++ in the object-oriented paradigm.
Proficiency in performing analysis with either MATLAB or Python analysis tools (numpy, matplotlib, pandas).
Academic background with physics sufficient to understand the basics of flight dynamics and sensors ( Typical engineering level physics courses and material covered in first year engineering physics courses will suffice) or college level coursework in statistics.
Current secret security clearance adjudicated within the past 5 years, and be able to obtain a SAP level program clearance.
Basic Qualifications for a Modeling & Simulation Software Engineer (Level 2)
BS degree in software engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, systems engineering, or a related field is required with 2 years of experience or an MS degree in areas above with 0 year of experience is required.
Experience with C++ in the object-oriented paradigm.
Proficiency in performing analysis with either MATLAB or Python analysis tools (numpy, matplotlib, pandas).
Academic background with physics sufficient to understand the basics of flight dynamics and sensors ( Typical engineering level physics courses and material covered in first year engineering physics courses will suffice) or college level coursework in statistics.
Current US Government Secret security clearance with ability to obtain a SAP level program clearance.
Preferred Qualifications (Level 1 or 2)
Proficiency in performing analysis with either MATLAB or Python analysis tools (numpy, matplotlib, pandas).
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
Experience with requirements verification and validation.
Experience in high performance computing or Monte Carlo simulations.
Experience in Modeling and Simulation of weapon systems.
Proficiency with CAMEO.
Experience in Operational Analysis.
Experience with AFSIM.
Experience in flight dynamics.
Experience with embedded software development.
Current SAP level program clearance.
Location and Context Location: Northridge, CA. This is an on-site role only. Living in Northridge offers access to urban and natural amenities in the Los Angeles area.
Salary Primary Level Salary Range: $74,000.00 - $111,000.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00
