About Stubborn Seed Michelin-starred restaurant, Stubborn Seed, is looking for a Pastry Cook to join the team. You will work under the guidance of Michelin-starred Chef Jeremy Ford to prepare and present high-quality desserts and pastries that complement the dining experience.
Key Responsibilities
Pastry Preparation: Prepare a wide range of pastry items, including cakes, tarts, bread, ice creams, and chocolates; follow standardized recipes with attention to presentation and taste; ensure quality, freshness, and consistency.
Plating and Presentation: Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure dessert plates are beautifully presented and adhere to plating standards.
Ingredient Management: Maintain an organized pastry station; properly handle, store, and rotate ingredients for freshness.
Quality Assurance: Ensure pastry items meet high-quality standards and taste expectations; seek continuous improvement and innovation.
Sanitation and Safety: Adhere to food safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized workspace; follow proper kitchen safety procedures.
Collaboration: Work with the culinary team to coordinate dessert orders with the menu and communicate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Pastry Cook or similar role in a high-end restaurant or patisserie.
A culinary degree or relevant pastry training is preferred.
Knowledge of a wide range of pastry techniques and dessert trends.
A passion for creativity and innovation in pastry.
Strong attention to detail and dedication to maintaining high standards.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Team player with excellent communication skills.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
