Senior Application Support Analyst role at NHS Ayrshire & Arran. The Role To provide application support for key eHealth based systems within NHS Lanarkshire, predominantly within the services specified in the Systems section below. The work of the post holder will be directed by the direct line manager of the team. The post holder will be responsible for day to day maintenance of eHealth systems, to troubleshoot technical problems and provide technical reports in respect of system performance to the direct line manager of the team. The post holder will have supervisory responsibility for other staff involved in these activities. The post holder will provide advice and support to the users who use a service supported by eHealth. The post holder will provide a point of contact for eHealth for service related matters. The post holder may have to provision services for support. What we'll need you to bring

The post holder will have to work with a large range of complex computer hardware including: Standalone servers Blade centre technology Storage area networks High availability technology Network devices The post holder as a technical leader will have a responsibility for the maintenance and daily operational performance of this complex equipment ensuring that it’s operating effectively for all staff. The post holder will be required to use a PC and printer as part of their daily duties. The post holder is expected to have a comprehensive knowledge of IT hardware in respect of desktop PC and Printer and server equipment. The post holder is required to use a mobile phone. The post requires that the holder has knowledge of basic electrical safety rules. The post holder will use a computer tool kit. Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence. It would be great if you also have Qualified in an IT related subject Proven track record in the support of TCP/IP networks and MS Windows server operating systems Detailed knowledge in the management and support techniques required to maintain Microsoft products that include operating systems and SQL Server as well as the MS Office suite of applications Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory Ability to work as a team player as well as on own initiative to achieve targets set by the IT Helpdesk or IT Management Ability to work under pressure and to fixed time scales Excellent communication and inter-personal skills May be required to participate on department on-call rota Contract type
