SUMMARY
The person in this position manages all accounting and purchasing functions related to capital projects and assists in preparation of monthly management reports and accompanying schedules, worksheets, and narratives, including budget-versus-actual variance reports. RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain and track expenses for capital projects and perform reconciliation of expenditures Update monthly capital‑expenditure forecast Act as a liaison with Accounts Payable and Purchasing departments to research discrepancies in invoices and purchase orders with vendors Track and report the status of capital projects Support operations in budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and reporting on project and financial status Working knowledge of capital policy to determine expense vs capital recognition. Evaluating potential capital expenditures for practicality and profitability Assist with other projects and perform other duties as assigned REQUIRED SKILLS AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) Strong analytical, accounting, and problem‑solving skills Ability to effectively handle multiple projects at once Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Strong oral and written communication skills Ability to communicate and present information to senior management Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software programs REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR CREDENTIALS
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field At least three years of work experience or equivalent training This position is employed by the specific entity set forth in the job posting.
