Project Accountant 3 (PA3)

holds the responsibilities of PA2 with a focus on project reconciliation and development/training of the regional accounting workgroup. The position works under the direct supervision of the Project Manager, with guidance from the Director of Project Accounting, and assists in developing and executing the billing strategy of the Project Execution Plan. Strong organizational, time management, communication, client service, and analytical skills are required to pursue timely resolution. Major Duties & Responsibilities

Process all material and subcontractor invoices for approval and input into the accounting system. Review subcontractor pay applications, communicate irregularities to the Project Manager and Subcontractor as appropriate. Request, collect, and file partial and final releases of liens. Track and assist with subcontractor insurance renewals. Request and obtain valid W-9s for new vendors. Collect and process Certified Payrolls when required. Receive and process payroll for hourly employees. Assist with onboarding, development, and training for the regional accounting workgroup; may be assigned a direct report. Assist with project setup, including Job Cost Budgets and verification of Staff Rates, escalation, and equipment inclusion/exclusions. Assist in review of owner contracts to identify accounting/billing terms and aid in meeting requirements in Contract Abstract and Project Execution Plan. Attend pencil-copy meetings with subcontractors and Owners. Assist with PSR reviews and meetings for assigned projects. Perform reconciliation and audit reviews to identify variances; pursue resolution. Work with Project Manager to create and monitor Billing Forecasts and change management; communicate with Owner regarding billings that include forecasted costs (insurances, General Conditions, etc.). Prepare and process Owner billings on a schedule of values per contract requirements and MCC standards (in ERP). Generate billing backup detail and reconcile billings against job cost per MCC standards. Prepare Job Cost Corrections as required. Review NR forecasting for accuracy relative to actual costs incurred. Manage AP/AR process in VISTA. Coordinate vendor payments with Corporate AP staff to ensure policy compliance and pay-if-paid provisions. Set up and maintain general and subcontractor accounting files in the document control system. Maintain records of computer-related equipment and prepare equipment transfers as needed. Demonstrate understanding of various delivery methods and work across multiple projects of varying sizes and complexities. Provide general administrative support to the project team as requested. Strong computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office and able to learn new programs quickly. Experience in a paperless environment; familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Vista) is preferred. Good time management and organizational skills. Ability to understand and follow instructions and work as part of a team. Ability to analyze, identify, and resolve AR/AP issues timely. Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED. 4-year bachelor’s degree or relevant accounting experience. Minimum 6 years of industry experience. Working Conditions and Physical Efforts

Ability to stand, bend, sit for long periods, and squat; perform repetitive movements. Excellent communication for meetings, video conferences, and calls. Manual dexterity for typing and handling objects. Occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.; occasional travel may be required (valid Driver’s License). About Manhattan
