Overview
Network Core IP Engineer-Nokia And Juniper Experience Required-100% REMOTE TEKsystems is seeking a Core IP Network Engineer II or III for a 2-year 100% remote contract. This role supports the IP/MPLS core network, carrier Ethernet transport systems, cellular data core systems, and video transmission services. The engineer provides technical leadership, escalation support, and mentorship to team members, with strong communication across internal departments. Responsibilities
Plan, design, implement, and document new network implementations. Test new technologies and service architectures in lab environments. Provide engineering estimates and installation packages as needed. Provide escalation and troubleshooting support for operations teams. Mentor and develop more junior staff to expand technical knowledge and experience. Qualifications
Minimum four years of relevant and progressive technical experience in a Carrier Ethernet or large ISP environment. High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Telecommunications, or related field is preferred. A combination of relevant work experience and/or education may substitute for the total years required. Unix-related and IP networking knowledge with emphasis on core IP routing and switching. Skills & Certifications
Advanced experience with configuration of Alcatel/Nokia, Cisco, Brocade, or Juniper routers and switches. Advanced understanding of routing protocols (BGP, ISIS, OSPF, EIGRP, etc.). Strong understanding of RSVP, LDP, and PIM; data center network design. Extensive experience with layer-2 Ethernet technologies (VLANs, STP, LACP, MC-LAG). Juniper JNCIA / JNCIS; Cisco CCNA / CCNP; Nokia NRS I / NRS II; Brocade BCNE / BCNP. Certifications
Industry-specific certifications relevant to the discipline are highly valued and may contribute toward education requirements. Work Arrangement
This is a fully remote position. Pay Details
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr. Benefits
