What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
Assist Research Specialist with duties related to the Animal Enrichment Program
Prepare and clean food and toys according to established schedules and specifications
Maintain organization of supplies, foods, and storage areas
Assist faculty and staff with general office work and record‑keeping
Learn about primate behavior and environmental enrichment through training and hands‑on experience
What is Required (Qualifications):
Current UW‑Madison undergraduate student, ideally in Freshman or Sophomore status
Interest in primates, animal care, behavior, or psychology
Responsible, reliable, and organized with a strong attention to detail
Ability to perform repetitive or tedious tasks with care and consistency
Must be TB negative and meet measles immunity documentation requirements
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
Experience in food preparation, veterinary clinics, zoos, or research labs is helpful but not required
Good communication and teamwork skills
Intellectual curiosity and willingness to ask questions and learn
