Environmental Health and Safety Specialist
We are seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to join IQVIA Laboratories in Valencia, CA.
Responsibilities
Oversee EHS programs at the business unit level for one or multiple sites to ensure compliance with IQVIA Laboratories Corporate EHS policies and regulatory obligations (e.g., US OSHA, UK HSE).
Ensure corrective actions are implemented and documented in response to audits and reviews.
Maintain site compliance calendar and verify timely completion of recurring compliance actions.
Train large groups on safety procedures and governing environmental laws.
Conduct or coordinate internal site risk assessments, inspections, and audits to identify and assess risks.
Assist teams with development and assignment of appropriate CAPAs.
Ensure adequate management and training of EHS resources within the business.
Champion site EHS Committee implementation and support the Committee Chairperson.
What We Are Looking For
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
2-3 years of relevant experience in a site EHS role.
EHS experience in a laboratory environment.
Working regulatory knowledge of environmental and safety laws within multiple jurisdictions.
Certified Safety Professional and/or Certified Industrial Hygienist (or equivalent) or eligible for certification.
Other equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
Hands-on experience in wastewater permitting, hazardous waste operations, and other environmental and safety laws within California.
The Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Needed For This Role
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills for training, presentation, and communication.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, and clients.
Knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental laws, and safety standards.
Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
