Overview
Assistant Professor of English, Medieval/Early Modern — tenure-track position beginning Fall 2026. Main area of research should focus on the literature and languages of the British Isles pre-1450. Willingness to collaborate with faculty in archaeology and art history is preferred. Ability to teach History of the English language and/or surveys of world literature is preferred. Ph.D. in English with a specialty in Medieval or Early Modern English Literature is required by August 2026. Responsibilities
Teach four courses per semester, including upper-level and graduate courses in Middle English and Early Modern Literature, as well as speech, composition, and literature surveys, according to department practice and policy. Conduct scholarly research sufficient for tenure and advancement. Engage in appropriate service. Qualifications
Ph.D. in English, with a specialty in Medieval or Early Modern English Literature, required by August 2026. Willingness to collaborate with faculty in archaeology and art history (preferred).
