Southern Utah University (SUU) invites applications for a full-time, tenure track, Assistant Professor of History in the Department of History, Sociology, and Anthropology, to begin August 15, 2026. We seek a historian of nineteenth-century U.S. history. The candidate\'s areas of sub-specialty should complement and expand the department\'s current course offerings. First consideration date: 12/12/2025 Essential Functions
The annual teaching assignment will be the equivalent of 8 undergraduate courses spread across two semesters (a 4/4 load). Primary responsibilities will include General Education courses in American History and upper-division elective courses in the successful candidate\'s area of specialty. Education & Experience
Minimum Qualifications Terminal degree in History. Prior experience teaching undergraduate courses. Supplemental Information
