Quanex is looking for a Fixed Asset Analyst to join our team located in Akron, Ohio or St. Cloud, Minnesota. The Fixed Asset Analyst is responsible for maintaining accurate records of a company’s fixed assets, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies. Maintain and update the fixed asset register with all acquisitions, disposals, and transfers. Calculate and record monthly depreciation in accordance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., GAAP or IFRS). Perform periodic asset audits and physical verifications to ensure asset accuracy and accountability. Collaborate with procurement, accounting, and operations teams to ensure accurate asset classification and tagging. Prepare fixed asset reports for internal stakeholders and external auditors. Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes by reconciling fixed asset accounts. Assist in budgeting and forecasting of capital expenditures (CapEx). Ensure compliance with internal controls and corporate policies related to fixed assets. Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance fixed asset management. Administer and reconcile lease accounting activities under ASC 842 using Visual Lease, ensuring accurate ROU asset, liability, and expense reporting. Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned. Your Credentials
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 2+ years of experience in fixed asset accounting or general accounting preferred. Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems with preferred experience with fixed asset modules in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc). Preferred CPA or similar accounting certification (or working on it). Strong understanding of accounting principles related to fixed assets. Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Preferred knowledge of tax regulations related to fixed assets Compensation
