Overview
The Radiant Community Arts Communications Manager leads all communications, volunteer coordination, and gallery support for Radiant Community Arts. This role is responsible for producing promotional content, managing social media and the website, and supporting exhibitions and events. The Communications Manager also oversees all volunteer management, including the development of a new docent initiative. Reports to: Managing Director. Essential Job Functions
Communications & Outreach
Create and distribute marketing materials for classes, exhibitions, and events. Manage website and social media platforms (currently Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok). Maintain and utilize the organization’s CRM for outreach and engagement. Develop and send e-newsletters and press releases. Represent Radiant at public events, speaking engagements, artwalks, and gallery events. Volunteer Management
Oversee all volunteer recruitment, onboarding, training, and scheduling. Develop and manage a docent program to support gallery engagement. Coordinate mentorship program, including recruitment, assignment, and evaluation. Gallery Support
Assist with exhibition preparation and follow-up, including promotional materials and event support. Ensure adequate staffing coverage for the gallery (including gallery docents). Administrative & Operational Support
Submit order requests for office supplies to the Managing Director. Maintain office supply inventory. Manage class registrations and rosters. Maintain a clean and organized space that is presentable to the public. Participate in regular team meetings and provide updates to the Managing Director. Physical Requirements
Occasionally: Up to 1/3 shift. Frequently: Up to 2/3 shift. Continuously: Throughout shift. Standing, walking, bending/squatting, reaching/handling, grasping/squeezing, twisting, climbing, crawling, and other movements as described in the original listing. Carrying/Lifting: Occasionally and independently lift and carry 0-45 pounds. Pushing/Pulling: Frequently and independently push/pull props, artwork, furniture and more. Social Skill Requirements
Ability to positively interact with students of differing abilities, community members, partners, and coworkers. Ability to effectively send and receive verbal communication in English. Ability to promote Radiant Community Arts events, fundraisers, and initiatives through social media engagement and meaningful in-person networking. Aptitude Requirements
Must be able to learn and retain new skills. Minimum two years college-level coursework or equivalent experience. Two years’ experience in nonprofit communications or a closely related field. Demonstrated skill in community relations. Above-average verbal and written communications; able to read and write English legibly; basic math functions; ability to analyze, reason, and make decisions. Experience collaborating with management-level teams. Meet the general employment qualifications of OSLP. Maintain an active Oregon Driver’s License and be approved to drive agency vehicles by OSLP’s insurance provider. Ability to pass State and Federal background check as required by OHA. Environmental Factors
Most work is performed at the art studio. Some work may be in the community for networking, fundraising, and event execution. Occasional exposure to outside elements. Occasional driving to alternative work sites as needed. Possible exposure to chemicals and/or compounds throughout work shift.
