Security Comments : Position Description : The State of South Carolina Department of Public Health is seeking a Network Administrator - Advanced. This is a Rebid and an existing position to address increasing workload by supplementing infrastructure staff in the Network Operations Center (NOC) to assist with the Agency's enterprise network infrastructure and ensure operational support. If no candidate is selected, a second round will be conducted. Duration: 12 months; Possibility for extension: Yes Work Location: 100% On-site in Cayce, SC, Monday - Friday. Travel to various locations around the state is required; State vehicle preferred transportation. Candidate Location: Current SC Residents Only; No relocation allowed. Responsibilities

Monitor and identify issues with Agency wireless networks and remediate. Support wireless and network connectivity on Windows-based systems. Support wireless and network connectivity on Mac-based systems. Support wireless connectivity on various Tablets and Phones (e.g., Apple devices). Manage the wireless network and device lifecycle at all stages. Assist with supporting the State Health Laboratory network connectivity on instruments and supporting systems. Assist with ISE registration of devices on the network. Conduct onsite wireless assessments. Create and maintain wireless heatmaps projecting network coverage of access points using Ekahau and iPad. Perform enterprise wireless network deployments, installations, and upgrades. Requires comfort working on a ladder; ability to lift 40 lbs. Perform firmware/software/security/feature upgrades and other maintenance tasks. Monitor Agency trouble ticket system and complete network assigned tickets. Serve as the Agency's first and second tier of support, fielding wireless and network connectivity technical support requests; troubleshoot/resolving most common/routine problems. Assist Agency staff/contractors in resolving wireless and other network-related problems. Ability to climb and work on a ladder. Qualifications

Required Skills: 3–5 years Local Area Network (LAN), WLAN, WAN; 3–5 years network administration; CISCO and/or PALO ALTO FIREWALL; Valid driver's license; 3–5 years CISCO IDENTIFY SERVICES ENGINE (ISE); 3–5 years experience with a Ticketing System; Ability to climb and work on a ladder. Preferred Skills: Network Certification - Network Plus or CCNA; Ekahau; SolarWinds Orion. Education: Bachelor's Degree or 5 years of equivalent experience.
