DP Professionals Inc is seeking a Network Administrator for an opportunity in Cayce, SC. This position is W2 and will be based completely on site in Cayce.
Work Arrangement
Fully onsite in Cayce, SC.
W2 position; 12 months with possibility of extension.
Candidate must be a South Carolina resident or willing to relocate to SC before starting.
Position Description
The Network Administrator will coordinate daily and weekly assignments for the installation, deployment, diagnostics, and troubleshooting of critical enterprise wireless and network infrastructure.
Will work under the guidance of the assigned Network Manager or Lead and collaborate with Network, Security, and other IT groups.
Will supplement the infrastructure staff in the Network Operations Center (NOC) to support the agency’s enterprise network infrastructure.
Must ensure assignments are completed accurately and on time, providing regular progress updates to the assigned manager.
Requires statewide travel to agency facilities for network equipment upgrades, relocations, issue resolution, and installation of enterprise wireless access points.
Special Requirements
Driver’s License required as the role involves driving to various sites (approx. one day per week, less than 100 miles).
Daily responsibilities will include climbing ladders to reach ceilings for installing wireless access points and lifting/moving PCs, monitors, and other equipment—physical comfort is essential.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Monitor and remediate issues with agency wireless networks.
Support wireless and network connectivity on Windows, Mac, tablets, and phones.
Manage the wireless network/device lifecycle.
Assist station staff with state Health Laboratory network connectivity and device registration on ISE.
Conduct onsite wireless assessments; create and maintain wireless heatmaps using Ekahau and iPad.
Perform enterprise wireless network deployments, installations, and upgrades.
Carry out firmware, software, security, and feature upgrades.
Monitor agency trouble ticket system and complete assigned tickets.
Serve as the first and second tier of wireless and network support, troubleshooting routine problems.
Assist contractors and agency staff in resolving wireless and network issues.
Coordinate testing and validation activities.
Adhere to state and agency security and IT policies.
Collaborate with stakeholders (Network, Security, Server Hosting) to ensure alignment.
Support non-wireless tasks such as system/network installations and equipment racking.
Create, maintain, and improve wireless documentation.
Plan, organize, review, and implement project milestones.
Provide updates to the project team.
Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills for phone, desk-side, and email support.
Effectively communicate technical and project details to IT and non-IT staff at all levels.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
3+ years of experience with LAN, WLAN, and WAN technologies.
3+ years in Network administration, specifically Cisco and Palo Alto Firewall.
3+ years with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE).
3+ years with ticketing systems.
Fundamental understanding of computer and network operating systems.
Ability to climb ladders and lift PC equipment.
Valid driver’s license.
Interpersonal skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Network certifications.
Experience with SolarWinds Orion.
Experience with Ekahau.
