The Instrument Man II provides the expertise and coordination in using surveying equipment to ensure that the work is laid out in the most effective and accurate way possible. It coordinates layout activities with the Party Chief, Superintendent, and/or Foreman for the installation of layout on a project. It has a good understanding of our SQP goals and collaborates with Project Leadership to identify improvement ideas. It contributes to effective project management through daily observations and communication. It supports the field in resolving conflicts with tolerances and field constructability issues in the installation of the work. It contributes to safety on the project by perpetuating the IIF culture. Roles and Responsibilities
The Instrument Man II will possess competency in the following areas in order to perform the role in a safe, productive, and effective manner. The listed areas describe the general nature and level of work. They are not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills, or working conditions. Responsible for the installation of onsite layout Provides layout which adheres to quality control requirements Ensures a safe work environment Participates in training/certifications Qualifications
High School Diploma and 4 years of construction experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have 2 years experience as an Instrument Man I Baker Construction is an EOE Disability/Veterans Employer.
