The Server (Dining Room Care Manager) is responsible for providing dining and table services to residents in alignment with Sunrise Senior Living standards. The Server serves as a role model in dining service, assists training care managers, maintains proper dining room setup, supports special events, monitors checklists for dining area cleanliness and readiness, and assists in tabletop inventories maintenance. All food and beverages must be handled according to sanitary procedures and relevant regulations. Responsibilities

General Dining Service

Provide support in the day-to-day operations of the dining room while maintaining a high quality, positive, and safe physical and social environment for residents and fellow team members. Provide dining service training to new care managers. Maintain knowledge of Daily and Always Available Menu items and provide general descriptions to residents. Assist residents with menu selections and respond to questions about menu items. Take meal and beverage orders and serve requested items according to established guidelines. Respond to the dining needs of residents while upholding Sunrise hospitality and service standards. Attend pre-meal briefing to gain knowledge of the meal and meal support activities. Follow all local, state/provincial, and federal policies regarding food handling. Maintain standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and health standards. General Dining Room

Perform dining room checklist inspections for cleanliness and readiness; adjust as needed to maintain quality standards. Maintain side work duties as assigned. Keep assigned tables and surrounding areas clean, presentable, and ready. Ensure dining room setup and reset of tables follow procedures. Support dining room decorum and etiquette standards. Open and close checklist criteria completion. Assist in tabletop inventories maintenance. Resident Services

Review, read, notate, and initial the Daily Log to document pertinent information. Review Resident Diet Book-TSD or confidential chart. Protect the confidentiality of resident information. Food Safety and Sanitation

Practice safe food handling to prevent foodborne illness. Complete daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning assignments. Maintain all work areas in a healthy and safe condition. Assist in dining room and surrounding areas for proper directional flow, organization, and supplies placement. Risk Management and General Safety

Partner with the community team to ensure compliance with national/provincial regulations regarding occupational health and safety; promote Risk Management programs and policies and adhere to safety rules and regulations. Practice safety procedures including PPE, fire extinguishers, SDS, and Lockout Tagout where applicable. Training and Team Success

Participate actively as a team member and work toward team goals. Demonstrate the Team Member Credo in daily interactions. Commit to serving residents and guests through Sunrise Principles of Service. Contribute to engagement programs and processes. Attend regular meetings as directed by the Supervisor/Department Coordinator. Maintain required training compliance per Sunrise and regulatory authorities. Perform other duties as assigned.
